This campaign addresses the gap between Duolingo’s popular image and its true purpose. While most young adults recognise the brand for its chaotic and entertaining owl, they are largely unaware of its mission to make education accessible to all.
Building on the insight that people learn languages more effectively through engaging, real-life storytelling, the idea transforms Duolingo’s traditional lessons into compelling, gossip-style narratives. By turning simple and often mundane learning content into “spicy” storylines, the platform becomes more entertaining and relatable
